Stoned – Monica Vinader’s new pieces hit the stores.

But don’t worry, no humans were harmed in the making of these jewellery. The only way stones are getting on people at the British jeweller’s boutiques are in the form of gems safely ensconced in bezels of precious metals to be worn as rings, earrings, and bracelets.

There’s perhaps no better collection to herald the onset of summer than Siren, the line inspired by Southern Italy’s natural coastal beauty and distinguished by its organic shapes. For this season, the collection sees the introduction of gems new to Monica Vinader. Grey agate, black line onyx and pink quartz give a refreshing – and rather sophisticated – interpretation of summer trends, their colours being more subdued and understated than those usually chosen for this season

Talking about sophistication, the Baja collection welcomes a modern update in the form of Baja Deco. Baguette-cut green onyx, labradorite and black onyx are secured in what I would describe as a fancy bezel setting flanked by steps, giving the art deco-inspired collection a thoroughly new take that still manages to remain faithful to the line’s clean, geometric design codes.

For those who insist on colour for summer, there’s the Metallica Rainbow Cord, released across the Fiji, Havana, and Linear lines. Made from intertwined multicoloured metallic threads, it adds a little a lot of colour to Monica Vinader’s renowned friendship bracelets, which were previously only available with cords in single hues.
